Swim Bike Run

Many of you know that Mike and I took a Introduction to Triathlon's class at GCC last year. We have completed two of them and have already signed up for two more. The first is Sunday May 2nd at Verrado Sports Club in Buckeye, AZ and the other is Sunday May 16 at Seville Sports Club in Gilbert, AZ. Let us know if you want to come cheer us on and we can give you more information about times and locations. Here are some pictures of our previous triathlons.

This is me after my swim. I am trying to get my biking gear on as fast as possible because every second counts.

This is the transition area before it got packed. For those of you that don't know you have all of your biking and running gear in one area. From the swim you run to your stuff in the transition area ( so it is a good idea to know exactly where your stuff is ) and put on all your bike gear. After the bike ride you go back to the same spot and switch to running gear and off you go to finish the race.
This was Mike finishing his bike ride. You have to stop at a certain point and run your bike to where your running gear is waiting for you.
This was after our 2nd triathlon in Scottsdale, AZ. Some of our best friends were there to cheer us on. (From left to right Shaleigh, Cameryn, Preston, Brian and Mike) Aren't they a beautiful family? We just love them so much and were thrilled that they came. Hunter and his girl friend April and our neighbor Dan also were there that day but we didn't get pictures of them. However we were very grateful everyone took time out of their busy schedules to come down and watch.
This was Mike setting up his transition area at our first triathlon.
We didn't have anyone to take our picture so we took it ourselves. ;) Mike got third place in his age group and got a metal. I got a ribbon for coming in 4th in my age group. Now that doesn't seem right does it? The only reason I am happy about turning 40 in June is because I bump up a age group and the number of participants is a lot less.
Mike was pretty proud of his metal. Not bad for his first triathlon!!!!
This is us after our second triathlon. We improved our times and felt better about the whole process. Looking forward to the next one!
