Michael and I ran in the Ragnar Relay this past weekend. For those of you that are not familiar with Ragnar it is a 204 mile relay. There are 12 people on a team and you split that into 2 vans of six. We were van #1 and started the race in Prescott on Friday morning at 6am and ended in Tempe on Saturday around 4pm. Our team name was Blings and Kings. We had the time of our lives and are ready to do it again next year.
These pictures are a little out of order but it's the whole family at the
finish line after we got our bottle opener metals.

The girls of van #1, Me, Crystal, Julie, Candace and Liz having a little fun at the finishing line while we waited for the final runner of Van #2 to come in.
This is me crossing our teams toilet paper finish line. See the huge smile on my face. This completed my third and final leg totaling 14.2 miles. I was one happy camper because I don't think I had another mile in me.
This was our awesome van. The people at Power Dodge were nice enough to let us use it. There were hundreds of white 12 passenger rental vans in the race so we stuck out like a sore thumb. It was nice for us however when you were running to be able to easily spot the van waiting for you in the distance.
Mike getting ready to run his second leg. It was just starting to get dark and this was the only leg of the race that wasn't on the road. He was running through river bottoms and very uneven dirt and rocks. It was completely dark when he finished and boy was he happy when that was over.
( from left to right, Liz, Crystal, Candace, Jason, Me, Mike and Julie ) Here we are, Van #1 around 545am on Friday morning. Mike was the first runner so that i s why he has the vest on and all suited up to run. We were all very cold as the temp was 30 degrees. Yes, Mike was the only guy on our team, kinda. Candace's husband Jason was our driver and also road his mountain bike behind us girls on our night run. He had a great light on the bike and shined it in front of us. He was a huge part of our team keeping track of everything and everyone. I don't know what we would of done without him. He also ran for us when one of our teammates ( Mike ) got hurt.
This is our race bib. We all had one for the entire race. Pretty cool huh?Okay to end on a sad note, please pray for the family of 18 year old Robert Mayasich. He was one of the runners in the event and lost his life while exiting his van to give water to a teammate. He was struck by a car on Arizona 74 west of Lake Pleasant. God Bless!
