Bell Trail Hike
By now most of you know that I attend a fitness boot camp in the wee hours of the morning. One of the perks to being involved with this group is once a month they have a reward trip. This past weekend Taylor and I joined the group for a 6.6 mile hike at Bell Trail located one and a half miles east of Interstate 17 & Highway 179 intersection.
The weather was beautiful and the scenery was just picture perfect. We hiked 3.3 miles down to Bell Crossing at Wet Beaver Creek were Taylor happily sat on the nearest rock so that I could take a picture.
We had the best time just sitting and enjoying the water raging down the creek and listening to the many sounds of nature. To say we never wanted to go home is a understatement. Here is the website for general information about the hike.
After crossing the Wet Beaver Creek, the Bell Trail climbs the canyon's south wall to a high, grassy plateau where it winds through pinyon juniper stands and open grasslands offering views that stretch all the way to the Sedona Red Rocks Country and the San Francisco Peaks. We were not able to do this because of the level and speed of the water.
