SEDONA MOUNTAIN BIKE TRIP

SEDONA MOUNTAIN BIKE TRIP

On Sunday our family took a trip to Sedona, AZ with my Adventure Boot Camp group. We rented mountain bikes at a local store called Bike and Bean.

We had to get off the bikes and walk them across Oak Creek. We got wet up to our thighs ( well at least me, Taylor and April did ). The pictures are deceiving, trust me.

I am pretty sure this is the picture of Taylor where she wanted to kill someone.
Did I mention there were parts that were very very very difficult?

The ride was approximately 17 miles. Well, let me clarify that. It was 17 miles for me, Hunter and Taylor. Mike and April on the other hand went an additional 1 mile up the road and then had to go 1 mile back when they missed the turn off to Red Rock State Park.

As you can tell from these two pictures, most of us were having a great time. April maybe not so much. :) I think her favorite part of the trip was when we crossed the river.
She is so a water girl!

This is Hunter and I waiting at the State Park entrance for Mike and April. We finally resorted to asking people who were entering the park if they saw any riders back on the road since we had no idea where they were. Finally we found a person that stated there was a guy carrying a bike and a girl who looked like she was hurting. Great........... Turned out they were fine, just a little tired. ( remember they missed the turn off )

This is my insane husband hauling @@@ down the hill towards us. Guess what we are in the market to buy. You guessed it, Mountain Bikes!!!! Now we can do the tri's that are on dirt trails too! Yippee!!

Final thought on the trip was we had a great time. We were gone approximately 3 hours. Price to rent 4 very nice mountain bikes for that time was 162.00. ( Mike brought his brother's bike ) The fee for the state park was 15.00 for all of us ( 3.00 each ). Difficult at times and challenging most of the time. But the slogan for my fitness camp is " It's your fitness, make is an adventure" What else could we expect?
