WEEKEND
I had a long but very fun weekend. Friday night when I got done
with work I headed to Bicycle Vibe to pick up my time trial bike.
I had a bike fitting last week and they had a few adjustments that
needed to be made. I have never had a fitting done before
and I can't tell you how glad I am that I did it. It is worth
the money and 2 hours
of your time. They measure every part of your body and
much more and then adjust your bike so it feels like it was made
for you. Then Train and I headed to Flagstaff. He immediately
found the position that was most comfortable for the 2 hour
drive. Here he is at the beginning of the trip.

Then about 10 miles south of Black Canyon City we were at a dead
stop. 511 said there was a car fire and the freeway was closed. I called a
good friend of mine that works for DPS and asked her to find out a estimate
on the road opening back up. It was 4 hours!!!! There wasn't anyplace for us to
turn around so we just sat there. It was 6:30pm and 95 degrees outside.
During our down time we walked around on the freeway and talked
to a few very nice people. I also moved the center console up so that he
had more room to stretch out. He could
of cared less and I thought he was very well behaved. Could of done with out
the constant gas he released freely in our very confined space but it could of
been worse. I had a book on tape that I was enjoying listening to and
luckily it was only about 2 hours. Around 8:30pm we
started moving very slowly.
Got to Flagstaff at 10:34pm and my mom and Taylor were still up to
greet me and help get everything inside.
We were all exhausted and went
right to bed.
Awoke bright and early to spend a little time with
my Aunt Sharron and her husband Dick before they headed
back to Colorado. Aunt Sharron
is my father's sister and I it had been about 18 years
since I had seen her last.
After they left we headed to Wheeler Park for me to run a 5k trail run. We meet
Train's other dad there and they went off to spend some time together. I did
struggle with the run a bit due to the altitude and the fact that it
was a steady incline to the turnaround. I ranked 77
out of 155 overall with an ending time of 28:21.
Tay, Train and I then walked around downtown for awhile and shopped.
Train was in heaven going into all the stores and getting a ton of attention
for all the people. Everyone comments on him and how nice looking
of a dog he is. I think it might be getting to his head. I have noticed his
nose going up at the girls a few times since we got back home. lol
Tay and I went to see the movie "The Help" later that day. It was a wonderful
movie and followed the book very well. Then Train and I headed back to Phoenix
with no traffic issues what so ever. :)
Sunday morning Mike, Hunter and I went on a 20 mile bike ride that was
suppose to be 40. I was the weakest link due some issues I was having
with my bike ( not the one that I just had fitted). On the trip I learned
something about my son and husband. Apparently when
a dog comes flying out of it's driveway to attack the bike riders who
dared ride down it's street the men of my family first get them
selves out of harms way and then watch as I
scream like a crazy women to get away from it. Then when I catch up
with them they continue with their conversation as if nothing in the world
just happened. I KNOW, RIGHT?!?!
Ending the weekend off with a visit from one of my best friends and
most of her family. The newest addition is her grand baby Rachel who is just
the most precious thing in the world. I so enjoyed the visit and look forward to
seeing them all again.
So that was my weekend and even though I am pretty much exhausted to the point
of no return I had a wonderful weekend.
I just don't think life gets much better than this.
Hope everyone had a weekend to remember.
